Day 1: Srinagar to Gurez via Manasbal & Razdan Pass
Begin your journey from Srinagar on a spectacular drive through Kashmir’s scenic countryside. En route, stop at the tranquil Manasbal Lake, known for its calm waters and mountain reflections. You may choose to enjoy a peaceful Shikara ride, try light water activities, or simply soak in the surroundings.
Continuing ahead, witness the vast expanse of Wular Lake, India’s largest freshwater lake. Spend some time appreciating its scale and natural beauty before driving further towards Gurez. Cross the breathtaking Razdan Pass, the gateway to Gurez Valley, offering stunning panoramic views. Arrive in Gurez by afternoon. Check in and relax for the remainder of the day, allowing yourself to acclimatize and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the valley.
Day 2: Discover the Heart of Gurez Valley
After breakfast, set out to explore the true essence of Gurez Valley. Visit the mesmerizing Kishanganga River, the lifeline of the region, flowing through dramatic mountain terrain. Nearby, explore the expansive reservoir created by the Kishanganga Dam, which resembles a serene freshwater lake and offers beautiful views along its banks. Later, head to Khandyal Top, a scenic viewpoint overlooking the entire Dawar Valley. From here, enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and settlements. Those interested can take a short hike along nearby trails, while others can relax and enjoy the crisp mountain air. Stop for lunch at the well-known Log Hut Café, an army-run café appreciated for its welcoming ambiance and hearty meals. Return to your accommodation in the evening and unwind.
Day 3: Wular Lake & Departure
After breakfast, begin your return journey. On the way, revisit the stunning Wular Lake, taking time to admire its calm waters and scenic surroundings. The route climbs back through Bandipora, leading once again to Razdan Pass, where you can pause for photographs and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at a local dhaba.
Continue onwards to Srinagar and proceed to the airport with unforgettable memories of Gurez Valley.
